Rolan Milligan had to miss one game but for a good reason — he welcomed his fourth child into the world.
The talented defensive back posted on X on Sept. 17 that his daughter Suni had been born.
But even though he’s not a new father, he admits it was still a bit scary.
“Everything is good and happy to have another one,” Milligan Jr. said.

The 30-year-old said the organization made it an easy process for him to be at home and miss last week’s game — a 37-29 win over the Calgary Stampeders.
“(Mace) is practicing what he is preaching. You don’t always get that and that’s one thing he has always continued to show me at least,” Milligan Jr. said. “He cares about what I have going on outside of football, and that’s important to me.”
The win over the Stamps was the Riders’ first win since July 19 and snapped a seven-game losing slide.
“Just continued to fight and not give up,” Milligan said. “We come to work every day and make sure we are doing what we need to do to win games.”
The Riders will look to build off that win as the team host the Ottawa Redblacks on Saturday. Kickoff for the game is set for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on CTV.

Milligan, who has emerged as a Most Outstanding Player candidate, will be a welcome addition back to the lineup as the Riders defence try to stop veteran quarterback Jeremiah Masoli from getting too comfortable at Mosaic Stadium. Masoli is starting due to an injury to Dru Brown.
“He’s a good quarterback and has been around a long time so he has seen all the defences and coverages and stuff. He is still trying to get back in his groove but he can still make all those throws and it still smart.”
Milligan has a CFL-high six interceptions this season.
Milligan isn’t the only addition to the Riders’ lineup this week the team will be glad to have back.
Defensive tackle Anthony Lanier II (knee) will return after last playing for the team on July 25 against the Montreal Alouettes.
Offensive lineman Jacob Brammer (knee) is listed as a game-time decision for this week after he suffered an injury in practice in July.
“It’s tough, but I try to stay in it mentally and try to keep up with everyone and stay close to the group and keep it rolling,” Brammer said. “I’m glad to be out here for sure.”
The Riders will be without linebacker C.J. Reavis (knee) and receiver Ajou Ajou (knee) for this game as both were added to the six-game injured list.
