The 980 CJME newsroom is hearing reports about shots fired at a house in Regina’s northwest.
A house on Bard Crescent has two bullet holes in the front window, and a neighbour says there were three drive-by shootings, one on Thursday, Sept. 26 and two early on Sunday morning.
“I know for sure there was a shooting on Thursday; as you can see the bullet holes in the window,” said the woman, who requested she remain anonymous.
She told 980 CJME that early on Sunday — at around 4 a.m. — she heard a gunshot.
“A very, very loud pop once and then they drove away,” said the neighbour. “There was a burning powdery smell.”
“They came back at 6 a.m., they shot again, and drove away.”
The neighbour also told 980 CJME that a side door and the front of the house were shot at on Sunday.
“I could hear (someone in the home that was targeted) on the phone at 6 a.m. saying that they had come and shot at the house again,” she said.
“By 6:15, they (police) were here; it was really quick that they were here.”
She said there were six police cars lined up outside the address on Sunday morning.
“It was dark, so they had to use flashlights and look at the ground to see,” said the neighbour.
“Then, closer to 8 a.m., there was a forensics team come to take pictures; you could see they had their yellow markers that they put on the ground to mark whatever they had found.”
She added that on Thursday after the shooting, police were going door to door in the neighbourhood, trying to get as much information as they could as well as requesting video footage from people’s doorbell cameras.
980 CJME has asked Regina Police Service for a confirmation on the shootings, and for more information.
