Three men have been arrested after hundreds of metres of copper wire was stolen from a worksite in the RM of Frenchman Butte last month.
According to the RCMP, the theft of roughly 500 metres of copper wire was reported on November 23. The following day, three men were arrested in Paradise Hill in connection with the theft.

A 22-year-old Paradise Hill man and a 30-year-old Lloydminster man are each facing charges of mischief over $5,000 and theft over $5,000, and the 22-year-old is also facing a charge of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He was also wanted on warrants for assault causing bodily harm and failing to attend court, the Mounties added.
A 26-year-old man from Paradise Hill was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
This was the second case of copper wire theft investigated by the RCMP’s Turtleford detachment in the month of November. The first case, from Nov. 4, resulted in two arrests.
The RCMP reminded residents to report any suspicious activity or information about crimes.
The RM of Frenchman Butte is located about 40 kilometres north of Lloydminster, along the Saskatchewan-Alberta border.
