Two people are facing charges after an armed home invasion in Regina’s Walsh Acres neighbourhood, and two subsequent hit-and-run crashes.
According to police, officers were called to a home on Rink Avenue just before 9 a.m. on Sunday for a reported home invasion. Police said multiple people entered the home, then threatened and assaulted a victim, firing “several shots from what was reported to be a BB gun” in the process, before taking off in a vehicle.

While police were getting descriptions of the suspects, the officers got a report of a hit-and-run collision in the same block of Rink Avenue.
“A short time later, police received another report of a hit-and-run collision with the same vehicle at the intersection of McIntosh Street and 9th Avenue North,” the Regina Police Service explained in a statement.
“Information received was that the vehicle had been driving at a high rate of speed before side-swiping another vehicle and fleeing.”
Soon after, police were told that a man had threatened another victim with a knife at a home on Elgaard Drive, and had unsuccessfully tried to steal a truck.
“The suspect then fled to the 1200 block of North Galloway Street where he threatened another victim with what appeared to be a firearm and a knife and stole their vehicle,” the Regina Police Service explained.
“A short time later, officers observed the male driving the stolen vehicle in the area of Rochdale Boulevard and North Stockton Street where the suspect vehicle was involved in a collision.”
The driver once again tried to flee the scene, police said, but was arrested.
According to police, a 43-year-old man from the Piapot First Nation is now facing a lengthy list of charges, including attempted murder, break and enter, pointing a firearm, uttering threats and mischief under $5,000.
A 39-year-old woman from Regina was also charged with break and enter.
