Two men are wanted for murder and manslaughter after the death of a 33-year-old man on the White Bear First Nation.
Saskatchewan RCMP officers were called to a home on the First Nation at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, where they found 33-year-old Talon Lonethunder, a resident of Coronach, dead. Police quickly declared Lonethunder’s death suspicious, and advised the public of an increased police presence in the area.

On Thursday, the RCMP said two men have been charged in connection with the death.
Police said warrants have been issued for the arrest of 22-year-old Jeremy Whitebear, who is charged with second-degree murder, and 26-year-old Dwayne Maxie, who is charged with manslaughter. Both men are residents of the White Bear First Nation, which is located about 40 kilometres northeast of Estevan.
“Jeremy Whitebear is described as approximately 5’10” tall and 160 lbs. He has brown eyes and black hair. He has multiple tattoos, including a cross on the side of his face, the word “faded” on his forehead, roman numerals on his left hand, and script on his left wrist,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Dwayne Maxie is described as approximately 6’2” tall and 250 lbs. He has brown eyes and black hair.”
Police advised the public not to approach Whitebear or Maxie, and to report any sightings to the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
“Updates will be provided when available,” the RCMP added. “If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, we will notify the public.”
