The Regina Police Service charged a 21-year-old man, Jerek Dorian Tyler Favel with Second Degree Murder.
In a news release, police said the victim, 22-year-old Latavia Kay died in the hospital on Dec. 6, after she was admitted on Dec. 3.
According to police, officers were called to the 1400 block of Argyle Street in the city’s North Central neighbourhood at around 5:30 a.m. where they found the injured woman.
“The victim’s injuries were consistent with gunshot wounds,” the Regina Police Service said in a statement.
“Officers provided first aid until EMS arrived and transported the victim to hospital with what were believed to be serious, life-threatening injuries.”

Patrol officers arrested the man on Jan. 5.
The accused made his first appearance on Jan. 7 in Provincial Court.
