A request from Correctional Service Canada (CSC) was received by the Prince Albert RCMP on January 11 just before 9:30 p.m. asking for help in a Saskatchewan Penitentiary drug trafficking investigation just outside of Prince Albert.
CSC employees saw three people in a suspicious vehicle in their parking lot according to RCMP.
Officers seized the following from the vehicle:
- approximately 70 grams of methamphetamine,
- approximately 42 grams of cocaine,
- 38 pharmaceutical-style pills,
- and drug trafficking paraphernalia
A homemade slingshot that was used for launching drugs over the fence of the penitentiary was also located and seized by police.
A 23-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man from Prince Albert were arrested along with a 50-year-old man from Shellbrook.

The 50-year-old appeared in the Prince Albert Provincial Courthouse on Jan. 13, while the other two arrested are scheduled for March 3.
