Officers were not hurt but the vehicle was damaged.
The suspect vehicle was later located but Halkett was no longer in it.
For that escape, Halkett was charged with flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving while prohibited.
In relation to the initial escape from the penitentiary, he’s been charged with escaping lawful custody and being unlawfully at large.
The driver and passengers involved with the Rosthern area arrest have also been laid with various charges.
