A family in Saskatoon is dealing with pain and heartbreak after their grandfather passed away, and now they are speaking out.
William Hastie, a 96-year-old man was found in the snow on Tuesday morning.
In a statement provided to CKOM, Ashley Benson-Bonneville said her family is devastated and heartbroken over the loss of their grandfather.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved grandfather,” Benson-Bonneville said. “We will miss him tremendously.”

Benson-Bonneville said Hastie was a resident at the Northern Lights Care Home on Lochrie Crescent for nearly two years.
The Saskatoon Police Service don’t believe foul play is suspected but will continue to investigate.
“As a family, we are hoping for a full investigation and a review into his death to ensure appropriate accountability,” Benson-Bonnevile said.
She also said in her statement the family want to see immediate safety measures put in place.
“So no other family has to go through something like this again,” she said.
Benson-Bonneville said the family won’t comment again until the investigation is complete.
