The RCMP issued a warning to the public about an increased police presence on the First Nation, and asked residents to avoid the areas where police were working.
The police officers responding to the call located an abandoned white truck that they believe was involved, the RCMP said, but no suspects were found.
The RCMP asked the public to keep an eye out for a second vehicle – a black, two-door truck – that may also have been involved.
Anyone who spots the truck was asked to contact the Prince Albert RCMP or make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers.
Sturgeon Lake First Nation is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.
