A 34-year-old man found dead on Ottawa Street on Saturday has been identified and his cousin has been charged with murder.
Officers were called to the home in the 1600 block of Ottawa Street, just north of Saskatchewan Drive, on Saturday at about 12:25 p.m.
Jonathon Michael Ewenin was found dead. Officer determined he had been murdered.
Later on Saturday, officers arrested 30-year-old Rockwell Robert Ewenin. Police say he is the victim’s cousin.
He has been charged with second degree murder and will appear in court Monday morning.
Police tape still blocks access to five houses on the west side of that block of Ottawa Street. Police tape also surrounds the back alley.
Ewenin’s death is the sixth murder in Regina this year. Neighbours didn’t want to talk, saying they didn’t know anything about the man who died.
