Police have arrested and charged a teenager after a woman was shot in the face with a pellet gun in April.
On April 25 police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Broad Street for a report of a robbery involving a firearm around 8:45 p.m.
The information in the call indicated a 25-year-old woman was approached by two young men who pointed what appeared to be handguns at her face and demanded her belongings.
The woman hesitated and the two men shot her in the face two or three times.
The men fled as the victim made her way to a nearby business to call police.
Police searched the area but didn’t find anything.
EMS and police attended to the woman and it was determined her injuries were not life-threatening. She was taken to hospital for assessment and was later released.
Police believed the weapons were pellet guns.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with armed robbery in relation to the incident. He can’t be named due to rules under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
He appeared in youth court Thursday afternoon.
Police are still looking for the second suspect.
