Twas’ the day before Santas Anonymous Wrap Day and all through the food bank, presents were sorted, waiting for the crowds and crinkle of wrapping paper to appear.
On Saturday hundreds of volunteers will fill the Regina and District Food Bank. People will help wrap the huge amount of toys donated in the weeks leading up.
It’s the 48th year Rawlco Radio has put on the campaign to make sure every kid has a present to open on Christmas morning.
Before the toys and gifts can be wrapped, they must be sorted.
Grade 8 teacher, Suzanne McMillan, brought her students along with other grade 6 and 7 students from St. Jerome school to help sort on Thursday.
“We sort the gifts according to age group,” she said. “Zero to two, three to eight, or nine to 12, (along with) the puzzles and games.”
She said she’s helped out in the past with Santas Anonymous as she considers herself “big on charity.”

This year was the first time 11-year-old Bella Rogalski helped out with sorting toys. She said she hopes to be back next year to help.
“It feels really nice because usually we’re the ones getting presents but this year we’re helping with giving presents,” Rogalski said.
Thirteen-year-old Vera Solimon echoed what Rogalski said.
“It makes me really happy because I have presents but there are some kids who won’t,” Solimon said. “They’ll get to be happy like me on Christmas morning.”
