Highway 1 restricted at Morse after semi catches fire

Eastbound traffic on Highway 1 is down to one lane near Morse after a semi hauling rolls of paper caught fire early Saturday morning.

RCMP expect traffic to be restricted for “some time” while crews clean up the scene as the unit must be unloaded and towed away.

Drivers are being advised by Mounties to expect some delays in the meantime.

As of 1:30 p.m., Morse RCMP did not have an estimated time as to when the highway will be back up to two lanes.
