It’s April 5 and Saskatchewan’s still in the grip of Jack Frost.
According to Environment Canada, several communities across the province broke temperature records Wednesday morning as wind chills dipped below -30 C.
Elbow, Kindersley, Last Mountain Lake, Leader, Lucky Lake and Rosetown rewrote the weather record book.
Rosetown recorded the coldest temperature at -25.8 C.
Overnight temperatures during the first week of April in Saskatchewan normally hover a couple of degrees below the freezing mark.
The weather agency said bitter cold conditions will return Wednesday evening and last into Thursday morning before temperatures gradually warm up for the Easter weekend.
