The COVID-19 situation is worsening at a Saskatoon group home.
Elmwood Residences’ Kinsmen Manor — the group home for those with intellectual disabilities — is currently in a confirmed COVID outbreak. Twenty-two of its 32 residents, along with 16 of 76 team members tested positive for the novel coronavirus, according to a Facebook post Sunday afternoon.

In the post, written by executive director Rachael Steinke, it notes that some of its 16 infected team members are considered recovered. The first cases at the manor were identified between Jan. 10 to 12, according to an earlier update.
According to the post, eight residents are currently experiencing mild symptoms, while two others are experiencing moderate symptoms, but are stable.
Of the 22 residents, 19 tested positive on Jan. 15, while an additional three tested positive on Jan. 21.
In an update posted Wednesday afternoon, Elmwood said all residents tested negative in its first rounds of testing. All residents were retested six days after.
Elmwood Residences has been operating since 1969 in Saskatoon. According to its website, it supports 120 individuals as of 2020, including 32 residents at Kinsmen Manor.
